A Macedonian government delegation, led by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, signed an agreement with renowned French car parts manufacturer, Montupet, for the construction of a factory in the Technological Industrial Development Zone, “Skopje”, on Wednesday, May 28th, in Paris, France.

Montupet was founded in 1894. The company owns factories in France, Spain, USA, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Great Britain, Mexico, Bulgaria, and Ireland.
 
This first French greenfield investment in Macedonia, worth € 60 million, is expected to increase to nearly € 100 million within six years. The factory will produce aluminum engine heads for the distinguished automobile brands, “Ford”, “Renault”, “Citroen”, “Peugeot”, “Audi”, and “General Motors”. The factory should be finished by next year, and according to initial projections, 500 people will be employed, with expected revenues of € 200 million within five years.

The Government delegation that traveled to Paris included Vice Premier of Economic Affairs, Zoran Stavrevski, Minister of Finance, Trajko Slaveski, and Minister of Foreign Investments, Vele Samak.
