The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced a project Emerging Balkan Residential Fund, providing medium-term funding for affordable middle-class residential real estate in the majority of Balkan countries. The deadline for application is April 29, and the competition has been put up on the EBRD web site.

The private investments in the middle-class real estate will be made in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, and the Ukraine. The target size of the project is EUR 150 million equity, and the project is expected to encourage competition in the market.
