Israeli real estate investment company Gazit-Globe plans to build a 100 million euro ($159 million) residential and commercial complex in Macedonia’s capital Skopje,

Company "Gazit-Globe", through its branch in Macedonia "G-Macedonia", has become the owner of factory "Alumina" and its land, said the Cabinet of Minister without Portfolio Gligor Taskovic in a press release.

The company, which was the only bidder, offered a 20 percent higher price than the initial, planning to invest Euro 100 million into a residential-commercial facility.

This is one of the three projects "Gazit-Globe" plans to initiate in Macedonia, worth Euro 200 million.

In the next couple of weeks, "Gazit-Globe" executive director will pay a visit to Macedonia and present the company's future plans.

Gazit-Globe is a multinational real estate investment company listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The company is engaged in the acquisition, development and management of income-producing properties around the world and focuses mainly on supermarket-anchored shopping centers.
